Sample Submission

Workflow and Checklist

Shown at the left, this diagram provides an overview of the process involved in submitting a sample to the CCDB. To ensure that your submission is not delayed please follow all instructions and complete the checklist before shipping.

CCDB Protocols

Researchers at the CCDB have developed many protocols to expedite DNA barcoding. These protocols are useful for any lab, large or small, although recent work has focused on developing methods suitable for high-throughput barcode assembly.

Further refinements to both lower the cost and boost productivity are a current priority. Additional work seeks to develop more reliable methods for recovering DNA from ancient samples.

CCDB Advances

The Canadian Centre for DNA Barcoding periodically provides methods releases in a series called CCDB Advances. These publications provide an overview of new methods applied to areas of DNA barcoding at the CCDB address a broad range of analytical protocols, from specimen imaging, to laboratory methods, and data management.
